What is Automotive Ceramic Coating?

A Ceramic coating is a semi-permanent or permanent (depending on the type) of coating that is applied to the exterior of your vehicle to protect against external paint damage. It is a nanoscopic paint treatment that’s applied in liquid form, but cures to form a hard layer over your vehicle’s paint or even vinyl wraps or PPF’s. The Simplest way to understand Ceramic coating is that it provides a strong, protective surface on your car’s body that works to block all foreign matter from causing damage to your car. It can withstand a significant amount of damage without showing any visible effects on your car, such as fading, oxidation, and chemical staining. Our Jade Ceramic Coatings utilizes nanotechnology which are basically tiny particles that form a very fine, thin layer completely invisible to the human eye. Because these particles are so small, when applied to a surface, it seals all the pores in the clear coat making the surface hydrophobic (Water-repellent), and resistant to the sun’s UV rays, microscratches, chemical spotting, extreme Georgia heat and even graffiti.

This layer of protection is completely invisible but hard as a rock! Our Jade Ceramic Coating forms a semi-permanent bond on your vehicle’s surface, resulting in a “Sacrificial” layer that will not easily wear away from general car washing, rain, or salty mist from the Ocean. In Fact, usually, it would last for years. Our Ceramic Coatings repel dirt and water like nothing else, which makes it much easier to clean. The hardness (9H) helps to prevent swirl marks and marring from basic car washing.

WoW Detailers of Suwanee, GA offers a 3 year, 5 year and 7 year Jade Ceramic Coating. We also offer Jade Glass Coating Protectant, Tire Coating Protectant, Wheel Coating Protectant, Leather & Vinyl Coating Protectant, Upholstery & Carpets Coating Protectant and Trim Coating Protectant.

All vehicles that are Ceramic Coated by us will also be registered with Carfax, which would show up on your Carfax Report as well. This simply adds more value to your car.

At WoW Detailers, we always find ways to add maximum value to all our Customer’s vehicles.

What Does Ceramic Coating Do For Automobiles?

Take anything that contains chemical compounds and you are looking at a resilient solution. Same goes for ceramic coating, which is both permanent and easier to clean once applied. Other than the obvious, here are a few more reasons to apply it in your car:

Hydrophobic Nature, Ease of Cleaning: When it comes to waxing and other types of detailing, washing your car becomes a headache. With ceramic coating, you don’t have to worry about the polymer wearing off. (Incidentally, removing it completely requires another process involving polishing and wet-sanding.) Not only does it blend with your car’s paint but also repels water. This means that all water-based dirt and grime will bead on the surface and eventually slide off. A quick jet wash afterward and you have yourself a spotless, ageless car.

Protection from Harmful UV Rays: You can only imagine the damage that the sun’s harmful UV rays can do to your car’s paint job. Ceramic coating will protect your car’s paint from oxidizing, preventing it from fading and wearing a dull look. This is absolutely critical if you park your car outside. Protection from Chemical Stains arising from acidic contaminants in the air is another potential damage to your car. A coating will prevent these contaminants from bonding into the paint. With air pollution rate only rising in the city, ceramic coating can be a huge relief.

Super Shine & Gloss: This is where the aesthetics all car owners will love. Much like a car bra, ceramic coating also gloss and depth into your car’s paint. It will give your car a glossy look, bringing the best out of the original paint.

All of the above are the benefits that have revealed the truth about ceramic coating, haven’t they? In recent years, its popularity has only risen in and around the Suwanee area. Reviews from both users and auto industry experts have been extremely positive. A look at our own records of the past here at WoW Detailers gives us a good idea about car users’ general willingness to try out this superb protection for their car. But there still are some myths and incorrect information swaying around when it comes to this advanced protection.

Things that ceramic coating cannot do?

Every product in the world has drawbacks. Whether they are deal breakers or not is for us to decide. These are not exactly demerits; just things that ceramic coating just does not promise to do.

Protection from All Types of Scratches and Swirl Marks: Ceramic coating will not protect your car from the usual threats: scratches, swirl marks, and rock chips. Despite its blending properties, it still retains the characteristics of paint. This is why you should still expect your car to be at the receiving end of these common, undesirable elements. For protection from scratches and chipping, you should opt for the more advanced paint protection film before choosing Ceramic Coating.

Protection from Water Spotting: As discussed before, after the application of ceramic coating, water-based contaminants will bead on your car’s surface and eventually slide off. But they still contain natural minerals and soluble particles that will stay on the surface after the water has evaporated. Ceramic coating cannot get rid of the water spots that are produced as a result, removal of which will require a far more hands-on approach and regular maintenance.

Stop the Need for Car Wash: You will still need to regularly wash your car. A layer of ceramic coating does not give your car superpowers to auto-clean itself. While we are all waiting for a miracle product that would do that, for now, let’s focus on the bright side of ceramic coating. ‍

Is Ceramic Coating worth it?

The one word answer is “Yes“. As we have seen, ceramic coating has great benefits that will add value to your car in the long run. It will make your job of cleaning and maintaining it less tedious. So that you spend more time driving and enjoying your car than thinking about ways to keep it protected.

But if you ask us whether it is a one-stop solution for all your paint worries, we would not give false hope. There’s no one product in the market that will guarantee a complete protection of your car. If there were, we wouldn’t be discussing ceramic coating, one of the finest car paint protection services available today.

Moreover, weighing the cost of ceramic coating against that of the yearly maintenance and waxing makes it a no-brainer.

Post Ceramic Maintenance/Final Thoughts/Conclusion

For the Ceramic Coating to last a long way we advice all our customers for bi-monthly or atleast a monthly car wash (Hand Car wash recommended) and a Semi Annual Ceramic Reboot treatment. To avoid any mess up or damage to the Ceramic Coat we recommend subscribing to our maintenance package as we use only the best Detox Wash & Seal shampoo on all our Ceramic Coated cars. This shampoo revamps the surface of the Ceramic Coating and provides a protective layer to ensure your surface is always hydrophobic and ready for the elements. Aggressive detergents/ Car Shampoo's can cause your ceramic protection to wear away prematurely, and, since ceramic coatings have hydrophobic properties, you don't need much cleaning power to remove dirt or stains. Call us today to learn more on our Ceramic Coating Maintenance Packages!

The key to retaining the look of your car is to carry out regular maintenance. But if you are a car lover and are convinced about the wonders of Ceramic Coating and the value it will add to your car, get a quote from us today!

Paint Correction Polishing

WoW Detailers of Suwanee is the go-to paint correction polishing provider in Gwinnett County. Your car’s paint encounters many environmental hazards that can rob it of that glossy, showroom finish. With our professional paint correction carried out by our team of trained certified polishing experts, you can have confidence in your vehicle’s paint restoration. To ensure the perfect finish on your vehicle, we follow the industry standard for best practices with paint correction. If you want your vehicle to be coated it may need Step 1, Step 2 or all 3 Steps below performed prior to the installation of a ceramic or graphene coating.

Step 1: Heavy Defect Removal

The first step is heavy defect removal, also known as cutting or compounding. It includes the actual paint correction process and should be done by only a trained and certified expert detailer. Depending on the level of defects, the process involves using two types of Rupes polishing machines. These can either be rotary buffer or dual action polisher. Rotary machines are needed to remove heavy defects like deep scratches and swirl marks. On the other hand, a dual-action polisher is required when removing mild to moderate imperfections. We at WoW Detailers are fully equipped with both types of machines.

Step 2: Paint Correction Process

This process focuses to bring the painted surfaces as close to perfection as possible. The success of this procedure depends on how thorough this step is executed. In addition, it makes the final step easier. This process is performed with a Rupes dual-action polisher paired with a medium-cut buffing pad including a compound or polish being applied. Our trained certified paint correction experts will work a small section to ensure that the best pad and compound selection is being used. With the desired results, we will continue to refine the outcome and repeat it as many times as needed until that desired result is accomplished.

Step 3: Final Polishing

Also known as jeweling, our trained and certified paint experts will polish out the paint. They do this to improve the gloss and clarity of the painted surfaces. We use a special Rupes Finishing foam pad with fine ceramic approved polish paired with a Rupes dual action polisher. We do this for every inch of each body panel one at a time. We reinspect the paint to ensure that no polishing residue remains for that ultimate result. After this step, the painted surfaces will be ready for the ceramic or graphene coating preparation and installation.
